There were some reports circulating about Intel’s 8 Core Coffee Lake processor which will support Intel’s Z390 series of motherboards but no word was heard from Intel. It’s for sure that Intel has felt the heart from AMD’s Ryzen lineup.

Both companies are offering a tough competition to each other with Intel offering the highest clock speeds and AMD offer the highest core count where AMD can come up with a performance advantage in the High-End Ryzen 2nd series is expected to offer a much higher clock speeds when compared to the previous gen Ryzen CPUs.

Intel might be trying to fill this core/thread count gap by creating a mainstream 8 Core processor which will possibly help them in dominating the CPU market.

Two independent sources Videocardz and TUM APISAK have reported the data benchmark of an 8 Core Intel’s Coffee Lake CPU on the 3DMARK software.

This benchmark report showcases an 8C/16T Coffee Lake processor with clock speed of 2.2GHz running on an Intel’s motherboard. As told earlier there is no official news by Intel about releasing an 8 Core Coffee Lake CPU.
